Spoek Mathambo – Control

South African “vocalist/rapper/afro-futurist” Spoek Mathambo is on some cool, weird shit with this Joy Division cover. Posting this one mostly because the video’s amazing, but be sure to check out some of his other stuff ‘cuz there’s an enormous amount of variation in styles from one track to the next.

The Crystals – Uptown

Im going to make a very bold statement. This song is the most influential song we’ve ever posted. Who’s to say what would have happened but modern music production, along with sounds that changed the face of music (Beatles, Springsteen) may have never happened if it wasn’t for Phil Spector (the songs producer / the creepiest looking person you’ve ever seen / convicted murderer) and this song.
