Miley Cyrus – “You’re Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go”

I can safely say I never thought I would post a Miley Cyrus tune, but here we are.  For some reason, I seem to be posting a lot of covers lately, but this one straight blew my mind – my buddy played it for me and let me take infinite guesses at who was covering the Bob Dylan song “You’re Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go” (off his 1975 album Blood on the Tracks), and I never got close.  Definitely a different side of Ms. Montana.  This song is out on the 2012 compilation CD Chimes of Freedom: Songs of Bob Dylan Honoring 50 Years of Amnesty International – pick up a copy if you’re a Dylan fan and want to support a good cause.

Billy Currington – Pretty Good At Drinkin’ Beer

Yeah, this song might be considered “mainstream”  country, but in my book any song that promotes bud light drinkin has a spot on straight bangers regardless of its popularity.  Off Enjoy Yourself  (2010).   What a fucking great album name.

Toby Keith – Made In America

Not the biggest fan of this cornball, but it’s America’s birthday, we put aside our differences today.

Alan Jackson – Chattahoochee

I’ve never seen a video that better sums up what America is all about.
